Rulebase Updates

When should I download my updates?

If you are using Version 2, we recommend that you trigger your updates when you receive the update notification email. The robot that compiles your rulebase file will send an update notification message as soon as it is done. This happens on average every 90 minutes or so.

We have a number of automated scripts available on our site. Most use wget which checks the timestamp of the files before downloading.

If you are using Version 3, then your best option is to let the SNFServer engine trigger the getRulebase script provided, or something similar. Failing that, you should trigger your update process when the UpdateReady.txt file appears in the SNF workspace directory.
